Barbier-Roze: A family of winemakers

We represent five generations of winemakers in Verzenay, and more generations of vinegrowers, making our label one of true Champagne tradition. Born in 1856, Charles, the son of a blacksmith, married Clémence Roze, daughter of a vine grower. Together, they had enough vineyards to make their own Champagne. Charles started selling it around 1890 under their names : Ch. Barbier-Roze.

Benoit, fifth generation winemaker, pays tribute to the family tradition and to his grand-father’s grand-father name using its champagne name, which is above all an owner champagne.

Enhancing on this characteristic, our house is member of the “vine growers champagne” network.
